Vintage truck converted into small studio apartment. We’re located 15 minutes from Torquay on a biodynamic farm. The architecturally designed truck has a queen bed, kitchen area, potbelly stove, beautiful views, and offers a unique farm experience. Studio Truck designed and built by Rob Scott of Hollyburton Farm.
Once a horse truck, this renovated 1970 dodge is now an architecturally designed studio apartment. The truck design maximises the space allowing for a large loft bedroom area and small combined kitchen and living space, with a pot belly fire. The space can comfortably accommodate 3 adults, with options for 1-2 children. The potbelly stove and barbecue are available for cooking. Guests will wake up to a beautiful view over the wetlands and Thompson’s creek.
Guests have access to the entire truck, which contains a compost toilet and running water. Travellers will also have access to a full bathroom (with shower) in the adjacent house, as well as a flushing outdoor toilet about 100m away.
Interaction with guests
Depending on the season and time of day, there may be opportunities for farm activities such as fruit picking, animal feeding and observing milking. We like to welcome you personally on your arrival and give you a guided tour of the farm and the facilities if possible.
Other things to note
Guests who stay on a Tuesday or Wednesday night are welcome to participate in our Wednesday vegetable gardening group. Learn some skills about growing your own food organically. You are welcome to come for a shared lunch too on a Wednesday. We prepare our lunch with produce from the garden and we all bring something to share. Ask Mary Rose what you can bring to share if you would like to join in.
